Immanuel Presbyterian Church New Hope Presbyterian Church and Immanuel Presbyterian Church enjoy a sister-church relationship that benefits both congregations but especially the youth of both churches. Immanuel Presbyterian is a somewhat smaller than New Hope and is located in the south-east side of Indianapolis. The sister relationship developed from an association with a small school for children sponsored by Immanuel. The school no longer exists but the relationship continues. Each year there are at least four events between the churches. The major event is the combined Christmas party where more than 100 people from New Hope, Immanuel and the surrounding community celebrate Christmas together at a party sponsored by the churches. A holiday meal is served followed by holiday activities and games. The high point of the evening is giving of gifts to community boys and girls in need. In the spring the youths of both churches have a fun get together of visits to a park or rope-climbing or sports of some kind. Later in the year there is usually a “pulpit exchange” where Ministers and choirs change venues to provide the worship services. At the beginning of school New Hope and Immanuel combine to provide school supplies to needy children of the areas. This is a most rewarding and satisfying relationship. Anyone who wishes to be a part of this mission is certainly welcome to join us. For more information please contact:
